Black Pepper
(No Kidding!)
Molly and Soren have been crafting hard as long as they can remember. Their shared love of all things creative spurred a collaborative art adventure that has blossomed into a 2-dyke show.
They love experimenting with different mediums inspired by the whimsical soup we live in.
Soren Choe
My passion for fiber arts has been a gateway to exploring the expansive world of never-ending crafts and mediums. Focusing primarily on wearable art, my practice is a rumination on externalizing parts of myself. In sharing my art, others who see a piece of themselves in what I create can utilize my labors of love to self-actualize, and present a truer more resonant version of themselves. Interconnectedness, nostalgia, are at the core of my creations.
Molly Ray Keeler
My first love is painting, but everyday I expand into new mediums. I’m interested in exploring my alienation from the things that surround me. Through description and construction I hope to understand the form of the world. I find myself bringing what I’ve learned making art to every part of my life, often in ways that surprise me.
Mission
WE believe that efforts to elevate “craft” to the same level of respect as “fine art” removes important context.
Instead we want to break down the barrier between function and aesthetic by making art that is interactive and useful. The best way to curate your experiences and share art is by decorating your space and body.
We see the act of creation as vital and want it to be accessible as possible. To make art and friendships, consider coming to our crafting circle!
